DBAM for JD Edwards World

Why do you need database auditing?
Whatever security and access control strategy you have implemented to control your JDE environment, the proof of it’s effectiveness is who has been able to update your data?. For instance do you know who has updated your security tables recently? Visibility of audit information is important for any organisation not just for internal controls policy but to meet many auditing obligations (e.g. SOX/FDA compliance).

Why DBAM, why not journaling?
DBAM is fully integrated with World and was written by JDE for JDE. Any solution based around IBM’s Journaling cannot support the flexibility of a system like JDE’s Database Audit Manager. Journaling cannot discriminate what it records and is limited in how it saves changes made to your critical data. The database trigger technology in DBAM supports “intelligent” data logging where only the required data is captured. See our complimentary white paper for more information

How much will it cost?
Nothing. DBAM is an integral part of JD Edwards World software and therefore is available at no cost to all Oracle maintenance paying customers.

How do I get it?
If you are on a release of JDE that is A7.3 cum 14 or higher you already have it, just go to menu G946. For organizations on earlier releases, DBAM can be downloaded from the customer connection portal at www.oracle.com and is completely compliant with all releases of A7.3 and A8.1.
